AQ HDC4"s?????

i havent heard or seen anything that made them so much of an improvement over the HDC3.anyone know what the difference was in DBs between the HDC3 and HDC4 on the same power?
i saw a thread a while back, it was pretty big actually, like 3db iirc

No way to tell. A setup running an HDC3, then swapped out with an HDC4 may gain 0.2dB. A different setup may swap out and gain 3dB.

Guy did a direct comparison, he took an HDC318 and an HDC418 in the same box, same power, HDC4 was 3db louder IIRC

and that is IF i am remembering correctly...

i see. IMO. they HDCA3 and the HDC4 just dont seem like much of a jump.

if i was going to change to and upgrade, id run an xcon, zcon, or nightshade. IMO. the HDCA3 of mine is treating me excellent though.

If i could go back to when i bought my HDC, i would have bought an XCON instead, that's just me though.

the ssa owners are douches, I wouldn't give them a dime. Hell I'd go IA before SSA. If PAP would fully charge their motors they would be a good replacement.
That SSA owner thing sounds like a personal experience thing, i;ve only heard good things about XCON's and SSA in general, they have a few staff members that are semi-active on the forums, that with the fact its all from a U.S. build house, it all just seems like a good package.

I don't know much about AA, but it doesn't take a whole lot to make a more musical sub than an HDC3 or HDC4
aq's are great music subs if you use them in the correct boxes, they **** in ported enclosures.

whats wrong with their motors?scratch that, maybe a new DAD. or RE old XXX
they don't charge them long enough to be fully saturated

it's from FI, it's not nearly as much USA as you think it is. Which is a good thing usa speakers are not nearly as good as others.

and yes the owners lie and make things up to make their brand look better.

Wait, who doesn't charge their motors fully?

You already called them out as liars and underhanded business men, you might as well tell us what they have done specifically.

well i hear a ton of problems from FI actually... so ive kinda kept my distance from them

AQ subs can sound good though.. I have my HDCA 15 in a 4 cubes flarred ported enclosure.. sounds pretty **** good.. until i get past 30 volume and my car shakes. its run on two aq1200ds strapped, daily.

i miss my old RE SX 12... that sub was the perfect balance..IMO.
