Anyone see a problem with me getting this computer?

Uh, I can back my shit up. He's right. Vista has a component that literally keeps applications and processes that you have used SLIGHTLY open in the background for "quicker" load times when you want to use them again. Can you imagine everything you use all at once being SLIGTHLY opened in the depths of your computer? MAJOR ram overhaul. If you use Vista, do NOT have less than three gb or ram, two is cuttin it way too close

I'm guessing this is a question on why I put Acer = Fail.

Acer is the Pyle/Boss of the computer world. Some of the most cheaply made stuff in the industry. Very high failure rate.

I dont do anything extraordinary.....burn some CDs.....limewire....Vegas editing, Vista still ok?

i beg to differ. i have 2gb and never ever have an issue. my HD is even 5 gb from being full and it runs without a problem.

I am installing Office 2007, have 6 firefox windows open, and downloading using bittorrent and my system runs great.

Actually. False. It will work fine, but it will only read and use 2 gb, it can't use the other 6 gb

Yes, get XP so that you can only use 3 of your 8 GB of RAM and have terrible multi-core support ...

Then you're an anomaly.

And your HD has nothing to do with your system running fine, that's how fast your processor is and the RPM of your hard drive, try again.

I'm pretty sure XP's cap is 2, but maybe you're right about the 3... I know that the cap on vista is 4 though, so even then you STILL couldn't use all 8

Fast as hellfire and no virus problems...

I would never buy one....so no, I haven't owned one. But I have worked on THOUSANDS of them in the last 15 years. They rank right up there with E-machines as far as failure rate goes. Very poor quality.
