anyone have one of those 1/18th scale rc buggies?

what is a mamba? a speed control? i was looking at a novak esc as i wanted to do seven 1100 cells on a reedy mini mod on a 18b. only thing "extra" i will get unless it breaks are the aluminum dog bones. do you think the xps stock speed control can handle a 7 cell+ mod motor?

Yep 7 cells and a mod motor is fine with the stock xps. That's basically the setup I'm racing right now. 7gp cells, PTI mod motor, and aluminum cvd's. Got tired of throwingthe plastic bones every other race. The cvd's are the chit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Mamba speed controller, brushless motors, specialty gears and other stuff here:

The owner is a long distance buddy of mine from way back. I can vouch for his integrity and vast knowledge of the products and uses. He's a very nice guy too.

i got a few mugen mbx-xr's 1/8th scale buggy, a t-maxx, sold my rc10gt, sold my rc10tc3, trying to sell my rc10t3, and keeping my rc10b3

some of u guys with the older rc10's could get some decent $ if you sell them. just so you know

is the mamba 6800 race legal? and how long are 18th scale races? back when i did this 1/10 raced for 4 min (mods would almost be guttless by this time lol)

Depends on local rules really. Here locally we have three classes for 18th buggy/trucks

Stock - box stock, can only use 6 cells and motor that came with it no lipo

mod - any brushed motor, up to 9 cells no lipo

mod pro - run what ya brung basically. any motor, but to be competitive you gotta go brushless. Any batteries you can safely use.

We race 5 minute heats and 8 minute mains. Surprisingly with the batteries now a days mods keep there punch throughout the entire race. I race all three classes along with my nephew. It's pretty fun, and very challenging. It's harder to drive these little bastages than the bigger brothers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i used to race 12 scale carpet too i wasnt that bad but i wasnt as fast as the "gonzo" team guys that would drive 3 hours to race at the track. i would always get last in a main or top 3 in b, in off road about the same lol

I absolutely love off road racing. We have a roar track here locally that host sanctioned races. I am the local stock monster truck king //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I tried out 1/8th buggy racing this season and got my a$$ handed to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Top finish all season was 4th in a b main //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol i would nuke my engine in a race simply cause if i get awkward in the air i gun it to straighten me out in flight (raced electric for 6 yrs) hard habit to break

Have you made your purchase yet MR. Audiolife ?? If your looking to buy online, I got a coupon code for $25 off from towerhobbies. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

just got a rc18t in blue (mines stock now). test drove a rc18t with a mamba 8000 and it is retarded fast (about 60 mph) believe it was on a 3 celled lipo pack lol. this is a toy (all rc cars are) but it is VERY raceable. oil filled shocks and 2 adjustable ball diffs, ball bearings through out full time 4 wheel shaft drive is no joke. bought it locally (in toledo for 8 bucks more than a shipped price total)
