anyone have one of those 1/18th scale rc buggies?

I got an RC18B (well, my toddler did, for his last b-day, from a friend of mine). It's a way cool little 4WD buggy. Hard as hell to resist the temptation for me to get back into RC and set it up with a brushless system. Must resist.

I have pic's and write-ups on my few-years-ago RC projects on http://www.rcNuts.com if anyone's interested. I still haven't taken down the site. Still gets a lot of hits.

they are starting to do brushless in 1/8th scales thing is they are so quite compared to my nitro mugen. that takes alot of tooling i imagine if you were doing that that long ago that must be self made motor mounts

Several of my trucks were extended 2" long + width, and were unofficially classified as 8th scale. I've always wanted to see what I could do with an 8th scale buggy or street car considering the weight could be quite a bit less than my monster trucks (particularly in the tires, where it makes a huge difference). You could get some crazy speed out of them, I'm sure. Yea, I imagine the nitro to brushless conversion would take not only custom motor mount, but some degree of creative arrangement and tooling of stuff for battery packs, etc.

Thanks man. It was truly an obsession of mine, back in the day.
