Anyone got a JL HD600/4 yet??

We know what they look like.
We want to see close up pics.

Please do not post again w/out pics.

Thank U
Haha! Or what? Don't be a douchebag.

Did you click the link? I doubt I can take more close-up pics than that. I'll get pics up if I get around to it, but not before I post a few more times without them, just for you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Me a douchebag,I was just giving you shit, but since you are taking it serious then ahh Fucc U

I installed the PDX 4.100 & 1.600 in my wifes' jeep liberty running Boston Pro's and a JL stealthbox. HU is Alpine x100. They sound excellent! The system really came to life ...crisp highs, but not harsh, clean mids and mid bass and the 600 hits hard on that 12". The system meshes very well and is tonally balanced.
AND

I just installed the HD 600/4 in my wrangler driving Focal speakers. It sounds better than the Alpine... smoother. Almost twice the price though. I will be replacing my sub amp (JL slash 250/1) with the HD 750/1 as soon as I can get my hands on one. I haven't finished this install yet, but I might be able to post some pics of the other.
Unless the two amps were installed in two identical vehicles, powering identical speakers that were installed exactly the same way, and fed an identical signal (same HU, same processing, whatever), this statement is completely assinine. Power is power. With two high-quality amps, the differences you heard were created by differences in install, not in the amps.

What do you guys think of this review:

"Was very excited to try amp out for my 2 sets of Infinity Kappa 6.1

Perfects.I must say I was impressed by the size and power.you can really

feel the power but the clarity just wasn't there. It left me scratching my

head, but I was not worried because Crutchfield has an excellent return

policy. So I put my JL 450/4 back in and that alone sounded great like

always. So in my conclusion for the money and clarity it did not sound

cleaner than the JL 450/4 and justify me spending another $800.00 for my

system. And a big thumbs up for Crutchfield, excellent service and fast

shipping. "

They gave it 3 out of 5.

Perhaps something was wrong with that particular unit he got. Someone on another board got one with a bad output on one channel. The rest of the reviews I've read have been glowing. I still haven't installed mine yet so I can't speak first hand. I'm counting on it to be outstanding.

They could've come in expecting something better than all mid/high end amps they ever heard and were not impressed. That guy doesn't mention tuning, if his doors were deadened etc. Just to throw it in your car and turn it on may leave you high and dry, but with proper tuning it might be a great amp. JL is too rich for my blood so I don't really research their stuff. Is this their first class D 4 channel?

In the review the guy makes a direct comparison to his 450/4, so deadening and the like is irrelevant. Based on my experience with JL, and Slash amps, and what I've read about the new HD amps, I still say there was either something wrong with his amp or he did not have the settings on the amp itself configured properly.

Class D full range amps using an entirely new (to the car audio world) patented technology. Check out JL's website and/or read what others are saying on elitecaraudio.com.

But yes, it's pricey!

I agree. I have a 300/4 that I'm replacing with the HD and I expect the HD to be a world of difference. I just refuse to believe that JL would make such fanfare about the amp and it be inferior to their previous line.

I too have only read glowing reviews about this amp and I cant wait to put it in. If it sucks I'll be the first one to admit it and return it.

i wouldn't be to quick to think the hd amps will be better than the slash series. the hd's do cost less.
It's just speculation on my part, but I think that's partially because JL is wanting to be aggressive and at least somewhat competitive in today's frugal market, and also because they just haven't gotten around to slashing prices (pun intended) on the older amps yet.

So, it's been a year, have any of you actually purchased an HD600/4 amp yet?

Is it any better than the slash series?

I'm expecting a 'world a difference' by switching my JL 300/4v2 with an HD 600/4 since it does have twice the power, I'm running Focal k2p's up front and some rear fills.
