down to the pure start, gasoline is gasoline. The difference in price is accounted for the different amount of addictives that are put into the gasoline when they are at the distributor.
I don't know about the other states, but in california, there needs to be a certain amount of addictives put into the gasoline before it can pass the distributor. They have a standard that the companies must meet in order for the gasoline to be used properly.
