Anyone ever had a successful workout/diet?

Well, I will admit it I am not what you would call thin, and I want to do something about it. Has anyone in the past had any real good success with a diet and workout combo? my grandad changed his diet, and walked 2 miles every mornin. Lost like 50lbs.......the only diets i've done require ice cream, chocolate syrup, and eggs, and protein powder. but im still skinny as a rail.....

prolly like 3months (guessing) the thing was, his wife died (hear attack) and all they ate was fried chicken and huge family meals, so he started dieting, excersing cause he didn't wanna be like that......he's 72 and looks late 50's early 60's now.

the dr. said it's cause i'm so tall (6'3''-6'4'') and so skinny (145-155lbs) that whenever i stand up all the blood rushes down, cause of my low blood pressure, so i black out from time to time.....but im in good health so no worries. But yeah from what i've heard the only real weight loss diets are the ones that require hard work including diet AND excercise. As for food, just stay away from the fattening ones and pop and you won't be tempted, and maybe walk a lil in the mornings or evenings (or both) and after a lil while you should start seeing/feeling results....thats just what i think, and im not a health expert or anything....
