anybody get a PSP this morning???

i picked up my preorder bright and early at 8am

along with dynasty warriors... no one else at

the store... i didnt expect a line since it was all

on preorder at ebgames... any experience any

lines if you did try to get one???

first impressions are jaw dropping... i didnt think it would

be so hot... its a litte on the big side, smaller than a DS

but much more fragile which isnt necessarily a good thing

for a portable game system... the screen is amazing but

again... this is not a kids toy and will require some

added care... sony was nice enough to pack in a lint

free cloth for cleaning it up... nice touch!!!

i only had time to play through one round of free mode

on dynasty, but it played great the graphics were more

than satisfactory and there wasnt much slowdown...

the "analog stick" is just a little nub that feels like a

hard speaker grill... not that great on range of motion

but its not exactly a dual shock controller, nor is it

supposed to be...

for anyone who hasnt seen the UMD format... its a mini

CD with a hard case around it... similiar to how a 3.5" floppy

disk works where the disk is protected by the outer

casing...

also packed in with the system was spiderman 2 the movie

and a game and music sampler disk... other than that there

was a set of "ipod like" headphones, a wrist strap, a soft

case, the cloth, a 32mb memorystick duo, and the charger...

applause to sony for a nice unit... aimed at a different market

its not fair to compare it to a DS which i think is a better

"portable" solution for gaming... the sony needs to be

kept under glass but should prove to take over the late

teen and up market...

did they sell out at all... compusa seems to be a good sleeper

store to get hot items because people dont necessarily think

of compusa for their video gaming needs...

safely at home til 6.30... and then i get to charge it

for about 2.5 hours while i build a 1.8^3 sealed box...

then maybe ill watch a really small version of spiderman 2...

preorders dont always work out so good though...

when the PS2 came out Media Play bumped my preorder... they

called me the night before the launch so i was able to sleep out

the entire night in front of a kmart to get it... but i dont want to

go through that again...

cold weather all night in front of kmart = teh suxor!!!

ive been reading about battery life and it doesnt seem to be

that bad... maybe 5 hours of game play with medium backlight

and volume... we'll see...

Dynasty Warriors for PSP was a great idea...I'd love to play that game on a plane or something. I also want to try our Metal Gear AC!D...it looks really weird.

i only let myself get ONE game today... since i really cant afford even

the system... i chose the DW just because i knew that i would

like it and it would have good reply value... im not to sure about

the card game metal gear... but it was choice two...

hopefully there will be a good final fantasy tactics released

eventually... that would make a good portable game...

i dont thing there will be much of a price drop til christmas... even

at 249.99 for all the crap they pack in i dont think its TOO expensive...

It definately isn't too expensive considering what it can be used for.

I'd also love to see something like one of the n64 Zeldas or an Ace Combat game on the system.
