any way to measure amperage being pulled?

I have a Hifonics 1606d and it has 140 total amps on the amp its self but i want to know if this makes much sense.

I currently have a 60a AGU fuse on my 4ga wire. Running exactly 1050w rms tuned via -3db 50hz tone.

Does it make sense that the amp is pulling less than 60a at this level?

My lights start dimming on volume 20 out of 22 playing volume. Also the bass level as i turn the volume up isnt Linear, its more exponential. Basically from volume 11 to 17 isnt that significant of a change in bass but from 19-22 its MAJOR.

I just want to make sure im giving this amp what it wants, dont want to be sending out a distorted signal.

things to know:

Done the big 3

14.0v to 14.4 to the amp

4ga wire

1 12" RSDC

650CCA battery

130a Alternator

Well, you're a little mistaken on the action of a fuse. Most fuses will take more than rated amperages for a set amount of time. 100 amps can run through a 60 amp fuse for let's say 20 seconds.

But at lower volumes, your amp is pulling 60 amperes. At 50%, it's pulling 30. You understand? It's not always pulling 60 amperes. That would be nuts.

take a alligator clamp and clamp it to your dickand stick the other end up your ***.

if your dick gets blown off you know it is too much. and to get another battery or something.

check on ebay and start looking for one

i got a really good deal on one and love it

would be awesome if i could actually get it at sears... Last item i got on ebay never shipped :| Did you lilmaniac2 actually get yours for 20 dollars at sears?

Maybe they just aren't listing it?

Alright i found some at Harbor Freight for 19.99 with a peak hold function however its backordered and wont arrive for 28 days!!

They do have one similar to it for 11.99 and it doesnt say if it has peak hold function.. Do i really need the peak hold function?

What does it do and if it only holds the peak amps i dont think its a big deal since i can look at the readouts and see when it hits a high number.
