I have a 1st gen nano that i have had for 2 1/2 years. It gets the job done but nothing special.

cons- their battery goes dead then you have to pay 70 or 80 something bucks if you want apple to replace it

i have the newest gen ipod classic and i love it

i have the 80gig version, and its the same size as the old 30gig ipods, and half as thick as the old 80gig ipods. longer battery life than the older ones too.

I just put my 2nd gen Nano through the washer and dryer a couple days ago and it still works, somewhat, so that says something about the quality, I'm sure a generic MP3 player woulda been done for.

Doesn't hold a charge for more than 3 seconds , but still works when I plug it into the computer or HU and that's all I used it for anyway.

Apple, makes awesome hardware... So you know that it's a quality product... It's just that Apple is lacking in the software/ firmware dpt.... So that part of it sucks really bad....

i have the 5th gen i believe, 30 gig. altho i royally hate itunes and everything apple makes, and it took me a good 5 months to come to terms with how completely awful the software is in the ipod, i actually enjoy it. i wouldve been much happier with another brand, but i got this for xmas.

apple fanboy.

ipods are ok. Sound quality, they are middle of the pack (i've had more mp3 players then most of you, brands from Creative, Cowon, Apple, iRiver and i've listened to Samsung, Toshiba, Sandisk players). Features, eh.

But the thing I like about the iPods is the thinness and the support. Something is messed up on your ipod, google it and you can figure out how to fix it. There are 1009432802193810239 accessories for it too.

Plus they are so thin! dang. I'm actually going to be getting myself a 16GB Touch here soon.
