any thoughts about i pods in general?

apple fanboy.
ipods are ok. Sound quality, they are middle of the pack (i've had more mp3 players then most of you, brands from Creative, Cowon, Apple, iRiver and i've listened to Samsung, Toshiba, Sandisk players).

I have right now a Creative Zen Vision:M. I also had the Zen Xtra 40GB about 4 years ago. I also have right now a old iPod Shuffle. I had a Cowon X5 a while ago, but sold it for the Vision:M. I have a Cowon A2 with me right now. I also used to have a iRiver H10 5GB which i had after the Xtra died on me.

This guy in my photo class had a Sandisk (the one with like a 2" screen, played movies). It sounded OK. The Samsung was a year ago. A guy I was sitting next to in class had one and I played around with it.

My cousin had a nano (2nd gen) and my mom has the newest one (the one that plays videos). Listened to them both. My friend has a 5G that I've listened to before. I might add my dad has a Zune as well. He also used to have an old Creative Zen Micro 5GB.

I can provide picks upon request as well. At least for most of the ones I've owned.

But the thing I like about the iPods is the thinness and the support. Something is messed up on your ipod, google it and you can figure out how to fix it. There are 1009432802193810239 accessories for it too.

Plus they are so thin! dang. I'm actually going to be getting myself a 16GB Touch here soon.

BUT I WOULD buy an Apple over a Zune at REGULAR price... Apple software sucks major major ***.... Creative is pretty decent, and my friends Toshiba was pretty nice as well. The only thing they are lacking in is prettyness.. Which is a big thing for me...

ANYWAY, I would most likely never buy a dedicated MP3/4 player again... I use my phone.

BTW: I have owned two different MP3 phones, a 1st gen nano, a ZEN v W, Have listened to my friends' Toshiba, Zune, iPod video, ZEN v...

I had an iPod 4th gen. Didn't like it at all. Battery only lasted 4 hours tops in it's prime. My used Creative Zen's battery last a very solid 8-10 hours playing only music. It's much easier to navigate, color screen is awesome, and it only cost me $100.

what does me liking the iPod touch have to do with you being a fanboy? Just because I want something very slim and with a big flash capacity, leaves me with not too many options man.

But you don't have to have a cow.

i had an ebay knockoff mp3/mp4 that sounded pretty good actually. i have an ipod shuffle and a 30g ipod video now. the knockoff was somewhere in between in terms of sq. the shuffle has no eq or even a screen mind you, so nothing's adjustable except volume.

the shuffle is pretty cool. you can fit alot on that tiny little thing. i use it at work hooked up to my truck's stereo.

i have about half and half video and music. i won't be able to fit everything i have on 1 ipod until they come out with a 600 gig version.

Yeah i got my 1st gen wet and after it dried out worked flawlessly.

x2, had mine go through the wash. Let it dry out and it's worked since (~6mo). I like the flash drive ipods a LOT. HATE the hard drive ones, reason following. Will never buy a hard drive ipod again.

Then, there's the 4th gen 20gig ipod. I'm pissed about this one. Been in a case it's whole life, never dropped, never abused(because it was $$), and the **** hard drive has ****ing died on me. It's 2 years old. Bullshit IMO, I can see a batt wearing out, but not the **** hard drive.

And the mini. 4gig, worked for about a year, then went completely braindead. Used to accept a charge and connect to the comp, but gave me some 1408 error(there's a web site dedicated to this shit) basically telling me the hard drive went to shit on that one too. Never abused that one either, I take care of my electronics. Now it's a paperweight, making sure my shelf doesn't fly away

Just got a zune for $99 before the new ones came out, and love it. Bigger screen, better sound quality IMO, better color. Only gripe is it's thicker, but I can live with that. I'm a guy, and don't wear tight pants so it would be a problem.

ive had my 30 gb 5th gen for a year and had no problems.

I actually like itunes ,i dont see why people dont.

Maybe they dont like it cuz they have to pay for music or videos?
