Any Racers?

89 iroc 350 bored over 383 sweetest ride in town pushin 450 horse, nothing like pure muscle. imports look cool, but there nothin sweeter than good old gas eating power of a 8cyl. Any ricer that thinks their a rAcer gets shown whats really up. respect for those who actually do make their imports fast, but so many just go for the looks. W/e. ive vented, so everyone race safe!

you are both kind of right..

nitrous, in the canister is NOT flammable..

nitrous oxide is only flammable when it is pressurized..

ie: in teh hosing, when it is injected into the fuel line...

but, in the canister, it is relatively safe.

What don't you stick a match to it then and see what happens???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

P.S. watch "The Fast and the Furious" what the Japanese dudes shoot up the Eclipse..."Oh shit, the NOS"!!!

HAHAHAHA rangerman, i lastly expected you to believe HOLLYWOOD!

Nitrous s not overly flammable when it is in its canister, you can take the canister and heat that mofo up, and nothing, it is only dangerous when it is in the pressurized lines...

keep in mind also, taht gasoline is pretty **** flammable, not to mention the vapours, lol.

not taht i like NOs or anythig, i HATE IT! cheap horsepower, no talent, anyone can strap some nos into a civic and make it quick, someone at my school has that...

but it takes real skills and work to bore out the engine, rebuild it, painstaikingly replace stock parts for high performance parts, put some real work and effort into your car, amke it yours, not off a **** store shelf....

I even though it is not flamable in the canister, running through the lines it is still dangerous right??? I thought it burned green when on fire...

no nos is not flamable. when nos enters the intake system it really just forces the ingine to put more gas into it. but the canister is dangerous. not being flamable but in that there is presure in it. if the top got knocked off of the bottle let me tell you it would go straight threw the car.

yup, as soon as its into the lines, and in teh engine, its flammable, but so is gasoline, lol.

remeber, it works the same way, just witha higher octane rating sort of thing...

when used properly, its relatively safe, but when misused, or poorly installd, its dangerous...

or when peppered from bullets from a Tek 9, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif....

but i still stand by my last comment about hard work...

partially right, but aslo partially wrong, go through thte process of the combustion if gasoline,a dn tehn the addidtion of nitrous oxide...

At room temperature, N2O is quite unreactive with most substances, including alkali metals, halogens, and even ozone. When heated sufficiently, however, N2O decomposes exothermically to N2 and O2.

n20react.gif

2 N20(g) -------> 2 N2(g) + O2 (g)

If this reaction occurs in the combustion chamber of an automobile, 3 moles of gas would be produced from 2 moles, providing an extra boost to the piston, as well as liberating more heat. It also has a number of other benefits. The increased oxygen provides more efficient combustion of fuel, the nitrogen buffers the increased cylinder pressure controlling the combustion, and the latent heat of vaporisation of the N2O reduces the intake temperature.

There you have it in a nutshell...

So when a Japanese dude shoots up your car it can blow up right???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have seen NOS partially catch afire, and it looked green...

im pretty sure that ahs to do with teh N2 gas present...

as anyone with any chem. background can tell you, ions ahve specific colours wich present themselves when tehya re burning, and also colours when in solution...

Also it is very unlikly that shotting a car will make it explode.
It is very likley it could of like I said hit some fuel lines you know those hoods are carbon fiber.
