any plate amps 3 ohm stable?

the EP is $350 at guitar center. i'll probably go there and check it out. for me, it just doesn't seem worth it to spend a lot of money on something that I don't know much about. i'm not sure what i'm looking for, so buying a lower line makes sense to me. in the future, i'm sure that i will get a new amp. I am already on my 4th sub and 3rd amp in 8 months for my car, so this will probably be the same way. i can never be happy with what i have.

do you think it would be a better buy to get the dayton plate amp over the EP2500? i think the 2500 gives me a little more flexibility (even though most of you don't like it).

I am making the switch from two single 12" subs to a single dual 12" or 15" sub box in my home theater soon

I'm in the market for a new HT sub amp as well, the EP2500 is probably overkill, but at $200-250 used it makes economic sense

no i haven't thought of an eq... i said i'm a newb at this right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif maybe i'll just get the plate amp and be done with it. i'm not ready to spend a lot of money on my HT.

I have a Behringer ep1500, and it is a great amp, but won't power that guy at all. They are actually overrated, I mean, did you expect to get 1500 watts of REAL power for 250 dollars? Nope.

wont power the dub7 at all? Exactly how overrated would you say it is? I ask because I was looking at getting one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i don't think that more than 800 watts is needed to power it... i'm sure those amps can put that out, even if they are overrated.
I've seen some EP2500 amps do only ~250 watts... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

And the when you send them back to Brokeinger they send it back to you and tell you that there is nothing wrong with it...

250 watts? thats just weak. I am probably going with the plate amp and getting a rack when i get some money saved up. and no, i won't be getting a Behringer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

While I know EXACTLY what my QSC's will do, and in reality they do a couple watts over rated... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
