Any opinions on Boss amps?

Are Boss amps a good deal for the money? I know they are the name brand like memphis, jl, and so on, but is it a good buy for the money? They have a 3000 watt mono amp for $199? Good deal or not?

are you trying to say they are in the same league as jl or mephis? if so you are very misunderstood. i will garuntee you that amp will not produce 3000 watts.

No, I am saying that I know they are no where near JL or Memphis, and all the other top quality amps. I would spend at least 3 times that much to get a top of the line amp. I was just wondering if it is a good deal for $199? If it wont put out 3000 watts, what do you think it will put out?

about half that. companies like boss and legacy like to boast big power ratings to get people to buy them.

i heard about 1100 watts but that is what i heard i didnt test it. when it gets pushed its not very pretty either

I benched a "1500" watt from Boss once.. heh. 485 rms at 2 ohms.. and then it shut off and blew a fart of magic smoke out of its ***.

Yeah man those are real good amps for the money... Don't waste your time.

If you want a cheaper amp that will be reliable for a bit, try Kole. I believe Power Acoustik is the parent company. I've used two of their amps in previous installs and for the money they work pretty darn good.

you can also try profile or us acoustics. ikesound has some good prices on directed and viper amps.
