Any opinions on a new amp!!!

Currently i have a sealed 4cu.ft. box with a 15" kicker cvx. i will be building a ported box this summer, i just built the sealed because it was fast and easy in the winter. the cvx is a 1000watt rms sub, i had two 12" p2's and a kicker zx400.1 rated at 492watts rms so it fit together perfect. but, ive only bought the cvx and not a 1000watt amp so right now im using my zx400.1. i want to get a 1000watt amp but kickers are way too expensive ($500+). will i be gaining much to buy a 1000watt amp and if so what brand is best for something around $250. i looked at hifonics but i don't know about them. are they good amps?
