any one in tampa, florida good with electrical..

ok so I took a dmm directly to the alt to see if you know maybe the wires were a problem.. doubted they were.. anyways.. the highest I could get from it even revving the engine was 14.02.. the batts are sitting at like 13 with the car off so it is the alt.. at idle the alt puts out 13.1-13.8 MAX in.. I hear people with alts doing 14-15 wtf.. is mine roasted? also it makes a high pitch whine.. it increases with rpms.. it emits the sound into my system aswell..

I am good with the audio the electrical is whats got me going.. I have a hc 2400 and a 1400 with a stocker up front.. Well.. when driving along its fine voltage is good I can be wanging on 2400-3200+ watts voltage might dip to 13.9. usually won't unless ac is going and what not.. well at idle with no music going or REALLY low I will sit around 12.9-13.2... if i put it in neutral it goes up a little or park.. now if I rev it a little It will go 14.. This has me thinking the alternator is shit for Idle but thats like 0.. my car sits at 12.9-13.2 when off... I will get the alternator tested and go from there but If i remember correctly my last alternator.. a stocker did the same.. the alt I have now is a 200a Db electric.. stock pulley size so that may be part of it..

Also at idle the car will kinda shake when the voltage dips down and will shake until I go or put it in neutral.. the rpms go up a little when doing that.. So idk if its the car idling to low or the alt being a piece at idle or what.. also when I put up my windows it dims my lights and drops my voltage .2 or so while doing it.. like wtf? they shouldn't be that much power

I didnt read any posts beyond this, but if it hasnt been mentioned yet. Unplug the alternator harness and check voltage that way. Your vehicle may beep at you if its a newer vehicle, but this will give you a good idea if it is the regulator on the alternator or if its something else on your vehicle

wait.. what? unplug the harness when its running? and then take the voltage? that won't possibly fuck something up will it?

Mine shakes at idle when I use any part of the battery. Like windows buttons do it. I tested it and when it shakes it's basically the engine revving up to compensate for the power loss to keep the battery up. Whenever the bass hit it dropped from 14.95-14.4 then the engine revved and voltage would spike to 15.05 then stabilize.
