Any of you guys tried shaving with a straight edge razor?

When i was over in France, i went to a barber shop they had on campus and got a hot lather, straight razor shave and it was the most incredible shave ever. Wayyyy closer than a safety razor, no pulling what-so-ever, felt incredibleeee. Anyways i found this website

At the barber shop I used to get my haircuts at they used those and I agree they worked great, they also used warm shaving foam which made my shit feel super fresh and smell good all day.

Did not realize they were so expensive tho.

Great way to slit your throat! I tried it with my bayonet once, that thing was razor sharp! I dang near sliced my head off. There stick with the 'ol bick disposable, much safer that way.

anyone who tries to shave with a bayonet deserves to get cut.......and thats coming from an ex-army 11 series and 18 series grunt

i had the same sort of experience in brazil.

they used a straight edge razor when cutting hair too.

good stuff, but i dont think i'll do it on myself.

i would never try it myself, but the barber i go to uses hot lather and a straight razor to shave my neck and around the ears.

He also will shave your face for $10. I've gotten a shave before just to say i have done it, but don't normally cough up the $10 for the experience.

The place is straight out of the 1940s or something. The barber chair has ashtrays in the arms.

I've heard that its a really nice close shave with them, but idk if I would trust a barber shaving me with one

I am always careful to stay perfectly still.

One time he nicked me behind the ear, but it wasn't bad.

I do sort of worry about getting teh super aids from it though.

thats the only thing that makes me nervous though, those razors are so sharp and one little slip, and it slices through your flesh

When I got my hair cut at a local barber shop, the one my grandpa goes to... he did the whole shpeal...

Straight razor, stone, strap, hot lather...

It felt great afterwards.
