Odd tidbit of history huh? Navy's birthday is somewhere in the same timeframe. Also did you know that The United States Marine Corps is the Most Senior Service in America's armed services? Why you ask? Both the Army and the Nave were disbanded at one point in time, However since Nov.10 1775 there has Always been a Marine Corps. Marines, First Amphibious landing-
