I bought a 1965 Mustang and in the trunk were a Concord HPA-51 carponent amp which states 216 watts @ 14.4. and a weird super heavy (for it's size) FAS PA400 amp. The FAS is 2 channel but can be run MONO at 400 watts. If pictures are needed I can get some up.

Are these any good or anybody have info? They look to be SUPER old maybe 80's I would suspect.

Check out post #5 and 6, looks to be very rare from what these guys are saying

was this rob's mustang on caco you bought?Mustang from missouri.
nah. I have no clue what CACO is . I bought this from my college classmate here in Northern California.

I tried busting the FAS open for a guts shot , but I'll have to try again tomorrow when I'm not too lazy to go to the garage and get the proper driver . The FAS takes a 10 PIN connector ( I think) like the round cord that goes in the back of the kenwood decks for a CD changer etc, as a input, rather than RCA cables.

Series. They were among one of my First Paid installs when I was up in DC working in 1989/90.They were affiliated with Harmon Kardon, later bought out by JBL/Harmon Kardon..They only existed for approx 1-1 1/2 yrs,and some of the most clean sounding amps Ive ever heard. They also made head units, that I had as well.FAS, Im not sure If I can remember, but a pic may bring me back too..I still have those amps, and they are working just as the day I bought them..caps look perfect in them:D

Here is a picture. The FAS has a glass 40amp fuse and banana plugs for all speakers/power & gnd . The only thing I got on the FAS is they were 1986ish era. There is a FAS spectrum EQ video on youtube .

I dont think I have ever seen one of those ..FAS..Now that Concord amp right there were mounted under the dashes of the vehicles,to be concealed,is reason why the fins of the heatsink are on the sides, and were hooked up with the High level inputs mainly/speaker wires. Not bridgable at all..straight stereo amp/raw power

Ya, Ive never seen that FAS before. The speaker connections, and power/ground look almost exactly like the ones on aCoustic 380/190 that I had back in that time frame of91/92,I a Dodge Daytona Turbo with 2-380s mounted at the floor board facing up just under the backseat/wall so to speak, and I could feel the heat coming off of those from the drivers seat..lol

The picture of the Concord amp brings back memories.

I still have a Coustic 380 and an Amp-460. I also have the model right below the 380...can't remember the model number now.
