Any Idea What These Old-School CD/Cassette Decks Are Worth?

I just ran into this thread - http://caraudio.com/forum/car-audio-classifieds/465670-f-s-old-school-alpine-pull-out-cd-deck-changer.html

My jaw dropped when I saw how much it's selling for, and the fact that I have two similar decks! One looks to be the same but cassette instead of cd, and the other looks very similar, minus a couple eq adjustments. They are the Alpine 7385 (cassette) and CDM-7823S (CD). They are both in very good condition, and 8/10 for the 7823S and a 9.5/10 for the 7385. The CD mechanism doesn't work in the 7823S though, but neither does Louisiana's (however his comes with a 6disc).

I also have an old @ss Clarion 2500r cassette deck. It looks beautiful, and works perfect as far as I can tell. I did not test the sound quality of the speakers or the fm tuner, so I don't know how they sound, but I did hear static coming from the speakers when in FM mode so I at least know they work. If I were to run a cassy deck, this would be the one.

What do you guys think I could get for each of them?

Thanks!

-Dylan

However mean your life is, meet ottawa escort it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the ottawa asian escorts alms-house as brightly as from the rich man's abode

??? I understand audiophile - but we are talking 10+ yr old technology - and cassette??? This really must be a joke.

Add to that the new market (latest D/A), USB digital interfaces (no need any longer for CDs) - what is the real point? Do you own a boat load of these and are looking for a market??? It's a bit silly.

If you're looking for big old school, grab a big inverter, and run a tube amp....

I've run many HUs in my life - and currently am running a Z110BT - it gives me BT streaming - iPhone, AM, FM, CD, DVD (Dolby + surround), MP3, USB (and hubs),SD, XM, and (if I choose) HD AM, HD FM.

I really am curious why someone would buy something 'old school' - all new equipment (almost regardless of brand) has pre-out. In a car, I do not think many can tell the difference in a preamp feed..........

{off my soap box - but willing to hear a real world opine for old school stuff).

A lot of old school stuff is made in usa instead of china or korea, made with better parts and has a lower THD. I have an Orion 225W amp that will take whatever ohm load i could throw at it. Most of them are pretty well underrated and sound a good bit better.

I also have an 04 pioneer hu that i wouldnt trade for any usb/ipod unit. its clean and has 6.5v preouts and going from 4 to 6.5 i noticed a huge difference. hell i have my gains turned off and it sounds loud and clear.

There is a difference between bells and whistles and sound quality. i might be able to do 50 different jobs ok, but the next guy might be able to do two jobs really well. just because a unit does usb aux ipod sdcard etc doesnt make it a good unit. i went from a pioneer p5000ub to an 860mp and dont look to be using the 5000 any time soon.
