I have a massive audio PA-50 sitting around with a blown mosfet. Its really not worth sending in, plus I got it for free... so I'vealways been meaning just to mess around with it sometime. Well today I came across a bunch of bipolar transistors. I have enough of them to replace all the like transistors on the board. Im also going to replace a few resistors that have soot on them.

This is my problem/question:

The original amp contains 8 IRFZ44N transistors.. they are 55 volt, 41 amp, 83 watt transistors.

The transistors I have are IRF1404... 40 volt, 162 amp, 200 watt transistors.

If I put them in.... what happens? Any info, or even any good educated guesses would be appreciated.

Yeah, probably going to, was just wondering what would happen. Like, could this affect the performance of the amp... would it even work properly? Like would it affect power output or efficiency?
