Because I trust what this guy says when it comes to deadening material:o'rly? how do you figure that theyre the same?
Do you know for certain whether that is butyl or asphalt based? If I am looking at the right thing it looks like asphalt according to the hazardous material info:Aluminum foil Protecto-o-Seal from HD works just fine. Been on the car for 2+ years now and NONE has come loose, including the trunk lid. It's all in the prep I guess. No rattles, no road noise, and inexpensive.
Not saying there isn't better out there, but it will work just fine, especially if trying to save a few bucks.
