Get off my lawn.
I am looking to put a new deck on my house/pool next spring, and am looking for some ideas or a design if there is a specific program out there.. Heres what I have now, and it is a nightmare because it isnt built worth a **** by the previous owner!

the notch in the corner closest to you will be gone, that was for a tree that has been removed. The deck is about 8" off ground level on the part that is nearest because that is doorwall height. Id like to tie it into the pool somehow, and go about 1/3 around it. Will probably be using the Trex wood for it. ALSO, any idea on how much I would plan on spending if I build it to spec?? Also, the 9' 7" width on the other part will go all the way to the chimney which is 12' total.

Well, most people i know don't really use a program... ussally start just building if you have alittle experience.. my moms ex just built deck that stood like 15 feet off the ground which surrounds back of his house up stairs, looks really good. and your idea is fine for what your trying to do. and if you get a good deal on some trex wood i would say you would be in the 150-250 range with ease

Im not a build and go type guy.. I like to work with a plan, its usually A LOT cheaper that way! If it was just a simple square deck, Id do it the easy way, but since my house is entertainment central, it needs to be nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

IM in Woodhaven (between Detroit and Monroe) As for the cost, Im thinking in the thousands here! Dont know where the 150-250 came from?? I have a quote for 5k to do what I have now in stamped concrete, but Im not sure Id like it as much as a real deck.

I did a 6'x8' deck for my house in central MI 2 years ago, it cost me 1K. but that was also the cost of renting a jack hammer and post hole digger. Also are you going to need a building permit?

the construction of a composite deck is more expensive than wood. Pricing can vary, but the range is usually around $10 to $20 per square foot for composite decking, and $5 to $7 a square foot for wood. That's of course if you're just buying the materials and building it yourself; installation can add as much as $20 or as little as $5 a square foot in labor costs, depending on how fancy your deck is.

If you want to figure the difference yourself, an online deck calculator can help you to estimate your total cost including railings, landings and stairs.
