re-wire your alarm to run on a "back-up" battery. it will help in ways if your alarm were to ever go off and thieves cut the battery in hopes of shutting it off will allow the alarm to continue. also if you have to d/c your main battery just isolate the backup so the alarm stays active while your main is disconnected allowing you to do any work you need to. then when you hook it back up like normal there should be no reset alarm or anything.
