Antenna problem?

When I listen to my radio, my antenna does not get a great signal.. Its good, but not as good as it should be. I can stand outside my truck, and grab the antenna, and it works A LOT better until I let go.. I am thinking it is a ground issue, anyone agree or disagree?

The asshat that owned my truck before me put on some kind of aftermarket antenna and the way it is mounted, I can't simply change it because I prolly will not find one to fit.

remove the aftermarket antenna, shave the body panel.

purchase XM or Sirus radio.

I drive this truck about 3x a week ,max but it would be nice to not have to listen to a CD all the time.

what makes it weird is if I grab the antenna, it works so much better.. I will go over the connection tomorrow if I get time, and see if I can do something with the way it is getting its ground. I really feel it may be a ground issue and it is just not getting a proper chassis ground.

you can get a glass mount antenna that is powered and they are only like $15 at frys if you have one that is local
