Another reason I love my Ninja 250R!!

imo, go with at least a 600. they are still fuel efficient, have low insurance, and are fast as hell. I personally think 250's are more for people who just want to "look" like they have a fast bike idk though. I want my first bike to be either an R1, a GSX-R 1000 or a busa so...
theres a 95% chance of MASSIVE fail

Just went to go get it insured... and for full coverage it's 17 bucks a month. I don't know how much you guys pay, but I about shit my pants, lol. That's on a 200 dollar deductable, too. Yayy. How much you guys w/ bikes pay?
no go and get a life insurance policy

If I get a 600 I'm thinking along the lines of a suzuki SV650.
I see no point in getting something like a busa for a first bike though. IMO that'd be more of a poser move than someone who buys a 250.
More of a death wish is an better way to put it:eek:

Id bump that up to 98%, the pos in my avi had messed up carbs among other problems and would still lift the front wheel off the ground and it was a 95 zx6r with "only" 100 wrhp. 600's now put out from 110 to 120 and this guy wants something that will lift the wheel off throttle alone at highway speeds:rolleyes: let me know where to send the flowers cause your gonna end up in a casket. People dont realize that most of the time your using less than 10% throttle, even when your "getting on it" its not usually over 40%.

Thats too much power to worry about on top of worring about dumbass cagers, gravel, leaves, little dead (or alive) critters, potholes, manhole covers, blown out tires, sealent patches on the road and god knows whatelse

oh and dont think Im bashing you, Im just trying to save you from getting bashed....physically. I wanted a busa for a first bike too, my friend told me I was crazy. My reason, I dont have to go fast on it just cause it can go fast. then I rode my bike and realized how fast motorcycles in general are, that thing to the left will do 60 in first gear with no hesitation.

Its really a mind boggling experience the first time you crack the throttle and let a supersport bike get over 6-7k rpms, especially if you dont know its gonna happen. Youll look up and be doing 40mph more than you were before you stepped on it in only 2-3 seconds.

I can tell you have never got on a 600 or a 250. you want a cheap way to find out if you wanna ride AND find out how fast a 250 is, go take the motorcycle safty course, its $25 for a 3 day course and they have bikes for you. Plus if you pass you dont have to get a permit for a month, you just go take the written test and you got your motorcycle license.

I really hope that you at least consider this cause if you dont theres a very high probablity you wont make it to your second riding season alive or uncrippled.

If 600's were so slow and unpowerfully they wouldnt use them to stunt on

Ahahahaha.....Go die.

I can't wait untill you wad your kewl knew bike because you want to look kewl. I Have a lot of respect for guys that have the balls to start on a 250. It's not the cool thing to do, but it's the right way to do it. You'll learn alot more, and be a better rider because of it. That's how most actual riders look at it as well. And honestly, we couldn't care less what you think.....Because you aren't a motorcycle rider.

Oh.....And here's my "poser super slow bike"

lmao at people thinking that they need a 750 or 1000 over a 600. I can almost gaurantee you that you will never be able to push a 600 to its potential as a rider. I would reccommend a 600 as a starting bike and an ending bike. I think a 250 would be better for a starter, but imo too many people will want something bigger and faster within a few months, so it's kind of a waste of money. Get something bigger, but ride it with caution. And when you think that you can ride a 600 to the max, add upgrades and you will have something faster, but I gaurantee you that a 600 is plenty fast for 99.99% of people out there. 1000's are for racing, and most people aren't racing so don't get one, or you are basically signing your death wish.
