Another reason I love my Ninja 250R!!

Ninja 250, isnt it a crotch rocket version of a moped

it has a 250 in it, so it isn't going to be crazy fast...But it still has quick acceleration, given it's a bike and weighs (300, 400 lbs?) a fraction of what a car does.

I think the 08' 250 is 0-60 in 7.xxx seconds?

hell yea thats plenty fast. great on gas and comfy if ur not too big and/or tall

250R sure does look nice! I just googled it up.

I always have wanted a starter bike someday.. Maybe this 250R is one of the choices.. Any idea how much does this bike costs? and where is the best place to look online besides dealers? I ve tried craigslist, but all of them are like 600cc, 750, or 1k..

And on this bike, do you sit pretty much upright on it? or do you actually have to lower your upperbody to ride it? I always have hated the idea of having to sit upright while on crotch rocket because I feel like they are designed to make you go lower.. and the look of sitting upright on crotch rocket is pretty funny..

I love the '08s. A full Muzzy exhaust would be super sweet on those.

rockets will force you over. And those riding upright are actually stretching their backs.

For my senior project I rebuilt and restored a 83 honda vt 500 ascot.

Basically about the same acceleration as a ninja 250, but with about 30 mph more on the top end of things (about 120mph is as fast as it goes, according to my dad, the original owner). Gets about 50-55mpg, 2 gallon tank.

Definately going to go with a CBR600 or Interceptor 750 if I continue riding. I really like Honda's.

its built to be more comfy than a full on crotch rocket.

there resale value is huge.. and i'm sure w/ gas approaching 5$/gal people are holding onto them.

msrp is 3499 iirc on the 08's.

honestly i dont see that as fantastic mileage considering how little the bike weighs. i always figured a bike could achieve 100mpg or so. What am i missing?

Hey, hey... never said I wanted to go fast. If I wanted to go fast I'd go w/ something that has higher CC's. Granted the four wheels is MUCH more safer, you only live once. That's the EXACT reason why I only went w/ a 250CC. Keep me from speeding, gas, and cheaper insurance. YOU'RE RIGHT!

well, your guys motors were probably all of about 20 times the size of his.. Most cars can pretty well break 100 fairly easy. I'm sure wind resistance holds that little 1/4 liter motor in check.
