Another lost package from USPS

maybe you'll get lucky. I've filed claims with UPS and USPS and a month or two after the claim was through and i got my money back or a new product....that package mysteriously showed up at my door.

Every USPS package I've ever gotten has been beat all to hell. Plus my USPS delivery woman (back at my actual home, not school) is too lazy to drive up my long driveway to drop off a package. I was trying to get my alt, but it never came. Went to the post office and they said she tried to, but it needed a signature and no one was home, which is bull because my dad is retired and is at the house alllll day long. The sole reason I use USPS is because its the cheapest option for me locally and 2 of my uncles work with them (hence the cheapest option part)

I guess i've been pretty lucky. I haven't had any packages lost. Although I did order a battery awhile back and the terminal was bent.. Also a mini fridge for college and the packaging was all beat to hell.. Like TF guys.

In my area, it is opposite. USPS is good, and UPS *****. I rarely get anything from UPS that doesn't look like it was thrown from off of a roof. I ordered a custom sub box a couple of years ago that arrived a week late with a softball sized hole in the 1 inch mdf.

i have never had packages missing, just my frigin mail, like bills or checks i should be receiving, and the crappy part is, i get my neighbors mail all the time and go give it to em, so you know they got mine, but do they return the fav. hell no! as for ups, it seems like the only time i get a beat up package it is always coming from places like AL., KY, TN, AR, OK, but if they come from CA, OR, WA, UT, ID, CO, they seem to be ok, not sure why that is.

I've shipped tens of thousands of items through USPS and their rate of loss/damage is quite low compared to the other guys and I have NEVER had them deny an insurance claim when things go bad. UPS is notorious for destroying packages (I've had about 40% of the stuff I've shipped through them demolished), and they almost never honor their insurance claims. FedEx is slightly better about not destroying stuff and honoring insurance, but not by much.

The catch with USPS on the local side is if you have some incompetents they're almost impossible to get rid of, so you MUST complain at every possible opportunity. It may take 10 or 12 complaints to rid yourself of a useless goldbricker. The problem is that much of their hiring is done via various preferences (diversity, veterans, know somebodys), and not so much by merit, and they have a really good union to protect the useless, incompetents, and layabouts. I've seen quite a few vets (God bless them) that were just plain tapped and had that helter skelter look about them and talk to themselves and mutter at you. It's a shock that you don't have any postal workers "going postal" anymore, because I've seen some scary dudes in my travels.

Still though, use insurance and you're fine. If it's something absolutely irreplaceable use registered mail. That's very secure handling and the only registered mail you might have issue with is to really sketchy third world countries... even then, I've got registered packages to some pretty awful places without issue.

I have been there, I bought a Hifonics brx1600.4 Box was beaten up, the amplifier box itself was even messed up. Almost didnt want to accept it. I am grateful i haven't lost a package yet.

I concur with the above UPS ***** DONKEY NUTZ!!! I have had them leave $500 + packages leaning up against my apartment door with no knock when I was home. had them huck packages over the balcony yadda yadda yadda. Finally just started having them deliver to work seems to be a different breed of driver /shrug. Never had any issue with USPS.
