sup gang,

i am on my second cda-9887 now. the first one was not charging my ipod for some reason...

i have the second one in and the ipod is charging properly.

however a new issue has popped up. when i turn the knob on the HU to make adjustments to my time correction i can hear some slight snapping sounds in my tweeters. the sound only happens when i make adjustments and doesn't sound bad enough that it gets in the way of my tuning.

any ideas what it could be? should i even bother caring about it?

thanks for reading!

Jay

no i haven't tried messing with anything yet, my installer pissed me off too. i called him to tell him about the issue and he basically said i was being obsessive compulsive and not to mess with any of the adjustments!!!

I have not had any of those issues.....

Your installer should have kept his mouth closed until actually evaluating what was going on. I would take a drive down there and show him.

Does he take you for a child or something.?? Take your car down to him and tell him you want what you paid for. A working head unit without all the fucking problems.

yeah i am in sales and would never treat a customer like that. he didn't even offer to have me come down so he could listen to it.

another thing i have noticed with this second unit is that there is a sticky point with the adjuster knob when it is cold. after the car has been running for a while and things have warmed up a bit that point goes away...

anyone experience this with any of their alpine HUs before?
