4wd? those can have problems... for example the transfer case... that thing is costly. my gf had a jeep and the thing had everything go wrong with it, granted it did have 380,000 miles...

and yes i did say it had all kinds of problems with that mileage, that is not to say that it didnt have problems before reaching that mileage... the transmission was replaced at 220,000, the axles were done at 175,000, the water pump and alternator at 280,000, and the ignition coil at 375,000. i'm just making him aware of the problems that could be forthcoming.

Also for those of you who are dissing chevys you obviously know nothing about cars, I will agree that newer FWD chevys are junk but in my opinion so is every other FWD car on the road. My friends chevy suburban which is a v8 Rwd truck has 300,000 miles and still going strong... For the person whos S-10 died at 70,000 miles you need to learn how to take care of a much better...

I know how to take care of vehicles...MY Honda CRX 1.5 all original has about 220,000 miles on it...I had a Dodge D-50 with a Mitsubishi 2.6 go for 350,000 plus original motor....I had a Ford Mustang 5.0 was going strong at 200,000+ when I sold it all original...Chevy is just crap made bottom of the line junk...I'd never buy another chevy vehicle unless it was an old school classic....I know my Buick Grand National is a GM vehicle but it requires way more maintance than any other vehicle I own...even more so than my Porsche Targa....It would have to be my 2nd worse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I drove a caprice just like that for years and never had any real issues with it and all of the cabs had hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of miles with just minor issues.

I dunno how much better of a ride you can get for $2k though, 2k is the area where the pickings are very slim and you have to be careful.

I would not take the cherokee, just due to the fact I have heard of a lot of issues with them.

ok well for around $5000 what kind of car would you guys get? heres what im looking for in my car,

i want something with room in it enough room for 4 people and i 2 15s in the trunk or back of it, and i want something that will look good sitting on rims. I dont like hondas at all and def. dont want a hatch back
