another blown sub ????

Ok so I got my sub on Friday! Wired it up and threw it in Friday afternoon and now it's blown. It's a 15" 800 watt rms at 2 ohms plug into a amp that's 950 watts rms at 2 ohms gain is not even a quarter of the way turned and bass boost is at 0.

I had this amp running a single twelve that's 600 watts an it worked just fine I don't understand how this speaker blew! All I did while I switched em was clean and install a new ground wire to the amp.

It is possible that the sub was just a lemon, other explinations would be that the amps gain is low but the HU ouput is very high and your still getting a lot of clipping, or that the new ground is bad and causing the amp to distort for various reasons, or if you threw it in and just started jamming it, it may have had transient shock, or even if the new subwoofer required more space in the enclosure and you just used the same one the volume contraints did it in. If you give us a little more info we might can narrow it down for ya. What kind of sub was it?

M5 15" dv4 / 1500.1d / hu the sub vol is at 3 the bass is -1 / in a super base Probox wired +/+. -/- wich makes it 2 ohms if I'm right the hu volume is at 20 the highest and it goes all the way up to 42. Any help thanx in advance

When you speak of how you wired it do you mean like this?

rightity right, I think I would just chalk it up to bad sub. If it happens agian then it needs to be investigated, but everything seems kosher at least enough to last more than a week

About the only thing I can think of,

See if its still covered by the company? (unless it was used of course)
