Another 1500wrms question? Which pair of subs? Sundown? CAB? Or Soundqubed?

If you have the box room for an 18 a icon 18 is a lil under 400.and would love 1500watts... But I'm always going to recommend ssa bro.. but that's because I know I would never be leading anybody astray by doing so. I don't see anybody being unhappy.. this is my 2 12s clamped 1200watts to split ...WAYYY UNDER POWERED .. (not the new ssa amp)

2 decent 12s will always smoke one decent 12. Cant comepare that. Iv got a whole neighborhood that will tell you a icon will get obnoxiously loud. But a 1250w 3"vc icon will beat any 750w 2.5vc car audio bargain in ALL aspects of performance (loud)and build quality..all day. But also costs 140 more.. so if you dont want to spend a700 on a pair of subs cab is a steal.(If you just want loud). What about a better more powerful sound quality 15..

It is obvious you love your icons, thats awesome cause that will keep the in your pocket lol...

but my 2 cents say an icon against cab ultra, might win in several aspects but if cost and loud are on the list.....sorry bud!!!

Really havnt had the chance to run it properly i hooked up both amps but popped a tweet trying to go active. Waiting for the new ones to get here get the front stage handled. I ran it for a minute. But didn't set the gaines properly yet. So the clipping indicator on the remote knob came on before I can get it really going, it was hot and at the end of the day so I just shut it down. I'll get back out there tomorrow. There's a big Volkswagen show in town Sunday and I needs to be ready. It's funny cuz the bass remote goes counterclockwise. What the fuc I'm going to break **** if I don't pay attention LOL

Those are some brass amps [emoji115] I might get the icon 18 if it'll be alright sealed? Calls for 4.5-6cuft n I can fit that easier than I can 6.5-8cuft for the ported

I would think a 15 ported would be much louder than an 18 sealed. With less box space. but I will let someone else chime in on that

Icons arent designed to be spl subs at all. Far from it. They do reasonably on the meter. But they just arent built for spl.

SSA subs are always most impressive in ground pounder builds. They excel there. Some of the nastiest demo builds use evils, zcons etc..

Walk over to the clamp/burp guys....they arent running ssa

I get that. But what physically makes a 750watt 2.5" voice coil sub louder than a 1250watt 3" v.c. im not being sarcastic or doubting your knowledge . Id like to know for my own benefit.

It isnt always the case, just in this case. The ultra has a higher spl factor and the 2.5" coil will move easier up until xxx input.

If it were something like an hdc3, something thats known to be loud, it would likely beat the ultra

Well lets look at it this way. 1 icon 15 is 385 out the door.. 2 ultra 12s 400. (Plus tax?) From what im hearing the only thing the ultra has over the icon is a few extra decibels..

If you only listen to rap and want as much loud as possible. Get the ultras.. if you listen to other types of music and want good crisp accurate bass notes,hand made build quality here in "merica" and still be loud at the price of a few dbs. Go icon 15 .. 32hz should be fantastic
