An Ideal 15" Box

My friend bought a cheap *** 15" subwoofer from walmart a few years ago and i decided that i want to put it to the test. It doesnt have any recommendations for an enclosure, so i was wondering what would be an ideal size enclosure for a single 15" woofer (sealed).

I was thinking around 1.5-2.0 cubes. Does this sound good enough?

What would be the dimensions to make a 1.5-2.0cubes box?

2.5" tall, 2.5" deep, and 3457.5" wide will give you 2 cubic feet before displacements using 3/4" MDF....

did the sub come w/ any TS parameters?
The sub didnt come with anything. All it came with was a blueprint for the sub so you would cut the hole correctly.

i've never made a box before, so could you show some sympathy and help me with the dimensions.

what kind of area do you have to work with? there are thousands of different dimensions that will give you anywhere between 1.5 and 2 cubes. all you have to do is take the length multiply by width and multiply height and dived by 1728. not hard.

i can make you a custom box plan for $5 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i just need a typical square box to fit on top of my ext cab seat. I am not going for a clean look. I just need an enclosure to see how this sub performs. It will be in my truck for maybe a month just until i get more funds for my "ideal" setup.

Why not make a ported box... That would really be the test for the sub. Since its a WalMart sub I doubt it will get all that loud in a sealed box, so ported would show what its got.

he can't figure out how to make a sealed box let alone ported. also those dimensions posted earlier, i came up with 2.1 cubes before sub displacement //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Ooops. I only factored in 1 side of mdf. internal dims would be 15.5 right? I was using 16.25.
