What up everyone

I have an SQ-Series 15", 400watt, 4ohm Hifonics subwoofer - SQ-154. I was wondering what would be the best amp to use to power this sub?

thanks

I have 1 sub. Just give me an idea of the best amp I can get to power this sub for the lowest price. Also, does anyone know where I can find single 15" bandpass boxes online or know of a catalog I can order or something?

thanks

this post is for zane

thanks for the advice, but i do have a couple questions. I dont know much about amps so i was wondering if that amp you suggested will really be enough power for that sub? like, whats the difference between 4ohms stereo & 4ohms bridged? I mean I have no idea so do u think u could kinda explain like what i should look for in an amp to power that 15" 400watt hifonics sub?

thanks alot

The amp I reccomended will power your 15- and likely then some. PG amplifiers have always exceeded thier specified power ratings and hold up quite well.

In concern to the Ohms bit....

4 ohms stereo would mean that the amplifier is using 2 channels each channel to power a 4ohm speaker.

4 ohms mono would men that the amplifier is using its 2 channels combined into 1 mono channel powering a 4 ohm speaker.

Since the amplifier is more powerful running mono, it would offer an advantage over a stereo output. It does this by summing the power of each separate channel into 1 more powerfull channel.

There can be advantages in using a stereo signal too. Some amplifiers are 2 ohm stereo stable and not 2 ohm mono stable. In this case, a stereo configuration would obviously be the better choice.

take a look at these links for further explanation:

take it easy,

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...

You don't need two amps. The speakers come with crossovers to help protect the tweeters.

Perhaps you changed something without mentioning it here? Maybe a loose turn on line? I dunno man...but we'll take it. Hopefully it keeps working. 👍
