What makes one amp better than the other? I hear all kinds of brands tossed around, and im so naive that i think what ever cost more means its better.

there are some brands known for low quality such as pyle, jensen, lanzar (although there are a couple good ones), legacy, boss...

there's a magazine that put's out a amp production list, cover's all brands and models every year.. at the begining of the guide it tell's you what to look for in a amp ect.. pick one of those mag's up when it comes out.. i forget witch mag dose it each year?

Ok speak to me as if im just a customer and all i understand is if its loud and clear. Not trying to be difficult but ive always been alpine and Jl and i know there are more brands out there and i wanna understand what to look for. It's not like i can go and have a store set up every brand amp to a set of speakers and see which one sounds better.

hmm, I thought Lanzar was ok? at least their opti amps. Don't know much about amps but from another member here posted that hes been using Opti for a few years now and claims they hold their own?

no for subs but also looking for some for componets as well. Im just not sure as to who makes a better amp. Im looking at spending 5000-6000 total i already have the head unit im narrowed to focal k2p 6.5's or boston pro 6.0. Only good sub ive heard and tested is jl w7 so im probably going to go with 2 w7's
