Amps That Take 8V Preouts?

Can y'all recommend amps that can accept an 8V preout from my Eclipse CD8053?

[Edit] So there will be no danger of clipping. I'm all about SQ.

One 2 channel will be for a set of Focal 165K2P comps. They like 100W RMS.

The other will be for an Alpine SWS-1042D Type S subwoofer in a sealed enclosure. It likes 300W RMS.

My budget *was* $150 or so per amp, but since the Eclipse purchase I am considering 2 Soundstream Van Gogh VGA400.2's @ $249 so there goes that idea. Can you keep me from spending too much money?

Thanks!

i ordered the same comps few days ago and im still wondering what amp to get, i heard zapcos are nice but not sure bout their iforce line, and this amp is 30 bux cheaper than orion 4002 which im also considering.. any suggestions?

almost any high end amp can use 8v or input but you can always get an amp that has highlevel inputs as well if you want to be sure i guess. i would go with PPI art series amps, $50 on ebay for a a200 or $75 for a A300 used + shipping

Thanks for the quick replies, guys.

So my worries are unfounded? I was under the impression that clipping was more likely at high volume levels if the preout voltage exceeded the sensitivity rating of the amp.

So my Soundstream Rubicon that has a sensitivity rating up to 5V will be OK?

I'll still take recommends, though... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Does "typical" include "loud"? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If i were you i will get the 37601 balanced line adapter to take the full

advantage of the signal clarity offered by the 8053. I believed it cost $200.

How I would approach it is install your new amplifier and start using it. Install a voltage gauge and if you see your voltage lowering then add...

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...

You don't need two amps. The speakers come with crossovers to help protect the tweeters.

Perhaps you changed something without mentioning it here? Maybe a loose turn on line? I dunno man...but we'll take it. Hopefully it keeps working. 👍
