amps showing internals

hey guys

i'm not an expert on amps, but was wondering which amps are out there that show off their internals??

the only ones i know of are helix and diamond audio d7, but these are both pretty expensive. i want an amp for my coax's and figured i might go with something that shows off its guts, might look pretty nice.

if i just got any amp, and took off the cover and put it behind plexiglass, would this be safe? or are there any risks in taking off the covering?

An easy way to do this is like you said, just remove the back cover and put some plexi on it. Im sure you can get some 1/8th plexi and just cut that out the same size as the cover and put it in its place.

ya they did this on one of the last pimp my rides....the guy whos car was in the shop was a technical guru or something so they turned them over and covered with plexi-glass to show it off. pretty cool idea.

does it make a difference though, if the amp is upside down? i heard that this makes the amp heat up a lot more...

If you are truly worried about it, just add a fan that blows on the heatsink.

The only time it would really make a difference is if it was in a confined space or the heatsink was totally covered. Other than that you should be fine. And if your worried or it is confined, put a fan below it.
