Amps Running to HOT.

OK i have an alpine amp, and live in texas. today it is 100 degrees outside. I was driving around today and noticemy amp was blinking "hot" and the temp ga. was 173. what will this do if i continue to push my amp when it is hot outside?

It's thermal protection circuit should cut in and shut the amp down until the internal temp returns to whatever Alpine has preprogrammed into that circuit as acceptable levels.
