Mtx 1501D or PA TT-2250D?

I am debating on either a MODDED mtx 1501D that puts out 1800 watts rms at 1 ohm and 14.4 volts; or a planet audio TT-2250D that is said to put out 2250 watts at 1 ohm. I would eventually have one of the amps on 2 15" L7's.

Im very curious if the PA amp would put out the 2250 watts, because its cheaper and it has a subsonic filter. Which 1 would make the L7's sound better/louder? Would the mtx have cleaner power than the PA amp?

My main question is....Will the PA amp put out close to 2250 watts at 1 ohm? If so, I could definitly use more power.

I thought the modded MTXs did 2000 at 1 ohm?

Planet Audio seems to be pretty accurate with their power ratings. Anyway, you wont hear any difference between 2250 and 2000...........get the one with the best price or warranty.....

If the PA can get close to what its rated at, i'd rather do that then. What would be the best wiring to use, 0, 1, or 2 gauge? I can get the PA factory refurbished for $240......30 day over the counter warranty.....and additional 3 month warranty on it. Mtx has no warranty.

Has anybody had experience with both PA and MTX? I used to own a couple mtx 421D's; I loved 'em. The mtx would cost a little more, but which ever one would sound the best...would be the one I go with.

Thanks a lot for all the replies.

ive got the PA p2250d, older to the one you got.

puts out a crapload of power, id say over 2000 watts for sure.

its a good amp, id choose it over the 1501d

watch out though,,, unregulated power supply, no internal fusing. so make sure u got like around 150amp fuse up front by ur battery, and 120amp fuse right by the amp.

I would recommend the modded MTX Thunder 1501D. MTX over Planet Audio anyday for me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
