amplifier/ stereo problem

I recently had my stereo system upgraded and now my front speakers stop playing after about 15 minutes.

Here are the items I had installed:

kenwood Excelon X890

Polk Momo 6.5 speakers (MMC6500)

Alpine 5 channel amp (about 10 years old)

Boston Acoustics 12" sub

My guess is that my amp is not strong enough to power my front speakers and shots down, is this possible?

If so, should I buy a stronger 5 channel amp or is there a better (less expensive) way to fix the problem?

check and see if your amp is going into protect mode.

X2. Also check your fuse(s) on your amp.

Sorry to be ignorant, how do I check to see if its going into protect mode?

maybe a light on your amp that is red or says protect, or a blinking light.
