Amplifier not getting any power

Today I installed my new Kenwood 8152D amplifier to power my Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 subwoofer. I connected everything as it instructed and afterwards, had my friend who is very experienced with car audio, come to check they were all properly connected. He said they were so I turned on the car to test it out but the amplifier wouldn't turn on. We then looked at where I had connected the amp turn on wire to the amp turn on wire behind the head unit and for some reason, that amp power on wire led to nothing at all. We then hooked it up to an unused wire, the power antenna wire(since I have a fixed antenna on my 1999 Nissan Altima). I tried it again and still no power light on that amplifier. I know that power is being used because after trying a few times, my battery doesn't have enough juice to start the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
