You got the new xda91rb? If yes, it is just like Popwarhomie said. Both positives to amp positive and negatives to amp negative. If it keeps shutting off, make sure your amp's ground is clean to bare metal.

I would try a pair of Bass Blockers on the rear speakers. I always place them on Coax. speakers generally, Should help quite a bit I like PAC ones...
