Amplifier Help Needed

I have come to believe that the 1, 2, 3 farad caps are worthless. But the higher up you go, the more help your subs get. Phoenix gold makes some nice caps that are also power flow distribution centers. I dont know if they are discontinued models.. because they seem to be off of PG's website at the moment. but heres 2 links. 15, 20, or 30 farad cap/distribution center manages power flow and all that. pricey, but a nice addition for hard-hitting sub systems. Looks good in your ride, and looks good on your resume. I would suggest a 20farad max for dual sub systems. for 3, go for the 30farad. and someone out there makes a 40. you get the picture. Umm.. Lightning Audio makes nice Hybrid Capacitors, the Carbon and Electrolytic capacitors together work well on high-power systems.

for your dual 1500D situation, id say the 15, but the 20 wont hurt. why get the diet version i always say...

and i would suggest forgetting about these until you get an alternator/charging system that can handle the extra load that's going to be placed on it...

And I would suggest that that was good advice Jack //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

Caps should augment a strong electrical system, not make up for a weak one.

can we get off the subject of the caps for right now, if u looked at my last post i told you that i've got a h/o alt , with a yellow top and 1/0g wiring for the big 3.....can we get back to my question and give me a comparison between the tsunami and the hifonics

Sure...chances are that you won't hear an audible difference if they are set up correctly. The Tsunami may get a little louder...but not like a "knock your socks off" louder.

sorry to be an dick, had a long shitty day, but is either brand that much better? plus i think i like the look of the brutus as well

i think the only difference is that the tsunami is not 1 ohm stable where as the brutus is, will be a big difference, i dont think i'll be able to run 1 amp to each sub

i ordered the amps just now, 490 for both brutus 1500's , i should recieve them in a week or two, so i'll keep everyone posted

if i am running these two amps, with the big 3 done up with 1/0 gauge and a yellowtop battery, will i be ok with a 200 amp alternator from Mean Green? i've contacted excessive amperage and they havent gotten back to me, and iraggi is a little expensive (although if i were to go 220 amp or 240 amp, i would have to go with iraggi)

Chances are the 200 amp alternator will be plenty even with both amps. I think those are 120 max each. And if there is some insane reason why you'd have the volume near the max on both of them.. then sure you could experience a voltage drop, but I'm still thinking your ears are going to limit just how loud you run it. My one XXX receives barely 1000 sometimes and it can easily dominate my car. When I crank it up to probably 2000 rms.. things start jumping in the car and your throat/chest start hurting as well as it becoming hard to breathe. Oh btw, my xxx is in a sealed particle board box lol.
