Amplifer Problem

Hey all. Looking for a little help please. I tried the search function but was not exactly sure how to work my question to find a match.

Here is the problem I am having:

When i plug my RCA cables into my amp, the amp puts out like max output. It was working fine up until about 3 weeks ago when a friend of mine bought and offered to install a capacitor for me. He could not figure out how to do it, so I told him not to worry about it and just hook it back up the way it was. Upon completion the problem started. I can have the car off and the radio volume at 0 but as soon as i plug the rca's up the amp goes to max output, and the subs (the one time i had them hooked up) came alive at max output as well, with the volume at 0 and the car off.

I have all pretty good rockford fosgate groun/positive/rca cables and they are ran on opposite sides of the car.

Any info you guys can help me out with would be appreciated.

TY

Rob

Well it sounds like your buddy effed something up for sure. Did he disconnect your battery before he started messing around? The first thing I would do is disconnect your negative battery terminal and re check all your connections. Make sure everything is hooked up properly. If you still get the same problem, you might want to open up your amp and see if your "buddy" blew something.
