Hey, I'm a new member and this is my first post in these forums. anyway, I have a 2003 ford explorer I'm running a kenwood dnx 7120 HU a Boston Acoustic GT-42 4 channel amp powering my front speakers (Boston Acooustic SL-80s) and the rear channels are bridged to power my subs (2 JLw3s) the rear speakers are factory ford speakers powered by the HU.
THE PROBLEM: about a month ago I noticed some crackling coming through my front speakers intermittently, I checked out the speakers to make sure they weren't popped- they were fine. I've been researching that, 2 weeks ago I noticed the volume was changing between the front speakers ( the left would be low and the right would be fine, then no sound in either, then both would be low) so I replaced the preamp output harness because I had a brand new one laying around for some reason and that didn't help. I also tried to test the amp but I'm rusty with a voltmeter. I tested the ohms coming from the rcas both front channels read approx 22.5 then i tested the speaker wire output the front right read approx 225.5 ohms and the left read 00.0. the sound from the left side is really faint but its there. I don't know if I tested what I needed to but it was all I could think to do, any help I could get with this would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading
