Amp wont power up:(Very WEIrd,

So

the car is a 2005 acura type S

Setup planed is

Panasonic cd player

4 cHan sony amp> for all 4 speakers

monoblock apline amp for single 12

8guage knuconcept wiring

Distroblock

Front/rear preout used for sony amp

Sw out preout used to apline amp

8 guage ground/8 guage power

The problem is

The amps wont get power!

i measure 12volts on the live wire and ground.

When i measure the livewire/ground Hooked to the amp threw the screws

it gets 6-7 Volts only!

I dont know whats going on

PS

EArlier in the day i got bOTh Amps to Power up and i though i fixed the problem

So i uninstalled the amps to clean the wires up and mount amp to box first...

then it stop working againO

probobly some type of connection issue, or maybe your power wire has a short or something in it. better go over your wiring, and dont forget about your remote wire either

prob, a bad ground or bad fuse.

You only have 8 awg going to the dist block?

If so, that needs to at least be 4 awg and 8 awg to amps, that may be a problem there.

Check the remote wires, how are they wired? If they are fine, try taking a peice of wire and put one end in the +12v terminal and the other in the remote terminal, if that doesnt work, check grounds, and all connections.

i tested the remote wire when the deck is on i get 12 volts

i tryed various grounds

sanded the paint, tryed the rear shock mounts

will a bad fuse be cuasing this?

When the amp is pluged in directly to the POWER/ground from battery and remote from deck it powers up fine

to be SURE

when connections to the amp are made

IT SHOULD read 12volts? even when the deck isnt on right?

alpine amp is new

and sony is old

well imma change all of em and check! too bad i cant afford time this whole week

all of them, but if none of your amps are turning on, then check the fuse up by the battery

how do i test the fuse?

it still puts out 12volts
