Amp wiring

I currently have a sub amp wired up already with 8 gauge, and i need to hook up an amp for my speakers now. What would be the best way to go about doing this? run another wire? or run a bigger wire and split to the two?

run a 0 gauge and split it into 2 4 gauges.

what exactly do i use to make the split? and how big of a fuse would you recomend if im pullin 1000w to my sub and 200 to my speakers?

What you need is a fused distribution block. See this link: http://www.darvex.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=FDB

Here's what you would do:

- Run 4 gauge wire from battery to the fused distribution block (you would to mount it near the 2 amps you plan on using)

- From the distribution block you could then run 8 gauge to the to each amp

Also, you could use larger gauge wire if needed. For example, you could run 1/0 gauge to the distribution block and then from there run 4 gauge to the amps.

thanks that was what i was looking for. i'd seen it before i just forgot what it was called.
