amp wiring question

i drive an '02 dodge ram 1500 quad cab and i want to add a couple of subs under the rear seat. i've found the subs, amps, box, wiring, and everything else i'll need but there is one problem that i can't get around. i want to try to keep my stock head unit. so my question is...what do i do about the RCA connetions? i've heard about adapters that you can use to wire aftermarket systems to a stock stereo. but i've never actually used one before. i've always had an aftermarket head unit. i've also heard that those adapters that i mentioned before ****. is there a certain type that i have to use? or is there a different way to connect my amps to my head unit without getting a new one? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Use a speaker to line level converter. Like this one:

Stinger makes some good stuff. If you want one cheaper just look around, be careful not to go to cheap or you will end up with something crappy.
