Amp Wiring Question

I have 4 MTX TN653's in my 02 trailblazer and i wanted to get a simple amp for them but first i was looking at wiring it. i know its common practice to run new wires from the amp to the speakers but that poses a problem in my car. there is no tunnel running from the door to the car, they made each plug into an adapter in the hinge that connects them. so my question is, should i deal with it and figure out how to run the wire through or can i just run the wires to the wiring harness speaker wires behind my head unit?

So you don't have a rubber bellows covering the wires between the door and the car body? That's odd.

I'm using the factory speaker wiring on my install and it's fine for me. But I'll say that 50-60 watts is about all I'd want to run through them.

Personally I always run new wires. I have never trusted factory wires. If it were me I would first try to find a which terminals in the plug are for your speakers and run new wires to and from the plug. Keeps the factory look with upgraded wires. If thats not possible then I would grab a drill and make new holes. Keep in mind that if you have the BOSE system in your trailblazer there is a factory amp that you will have to deal with.
