amp wiring problem....

alright well i was just transfering my amp into my friends car, so we got all the wires set for his car, and trasfered it, but the amp wasn't turning on. So we hooked the power battery and ground and amp lead back to my connections and decided to do proccess of elimination. First we just took the gound off and tried to find one, but could not find one anywhere on his car. We then just wired a direct lead to the back from the negative terminal on his battery to just get it done with, but somehow this didn't work. So we hooked the ground back up and took off the power next. I hooked on his power wire and nothing again, amp didn't work. (the cars were turned on, power wire was going from terminal to the right spot on amp) So everything was going wrong. We hooked the power up again, so we decided to try the amp lead from his car, and once agian this proved to not work. I don't know if this process elimination thing should'nt work or something, but does anyone have any idea why everything would fail. Everything is hooked up right. Also note that the RCA cables were going from his radio to the amp this whole time we were trying different things.

You haven't once mentioned a remote wire...that is probably it if you have not attached a remote wire yet.

If you have then here's several things to check

Are your connections (such as + to the battery) tight

Is your fuse blown (either amp or power wire)

Is the remote wire secure to the back of his head unit or is it possibly cut ( did you try putting it back in your car to see if it works?)

Most likely if you put it back in your car and it works, it's a head unit problem if no + is getting sent through the remote wire.

ya it was works great in my car (fuses are good, connections are good)....I just couldnt get a ground or any power from his....not matter what i did, so im thinking that its gotta be the remote lead wire and the amp just isnt turning on

Now can i attach the blue remote turn on lead to the red power source for the headunit instead of the remote turn on, just to see if that works, because for some reason its not working connected to the remote turn on wire....
